DESCRIPTION:Details:            The tryout preparation session offers participants an opportunity to learn about school team tryouts\, build their confidence and advance their individual skills. The session will focus on forearm passing\, setting\, attacking\, and serving. \n\n\n\nDate:               Monday September 4\, 2023 (Labour Day) \n\n\n\nTime:               1:00 pm to 5:00 pm \n\n\n\nLocation:         Queens Park Sportsplex \n\n\n\nEligibility:        Students planning on trying out for the following school teams this September: \n\n\n\n                                    Grade 8 female team \n\n\n\n                                    Grade 9 female team \n\n\n\n                                    Grade 10 female team \n\n\n\nParticipants:    16 participants \n\n\n\nCost:                $25 gst included \n\n\n\nIncludes:          Facility costs\, insurance\, equipment\, first aid\, coaching (training and checks) \n\n\n\nAdditional:       Appropriate athletic footwear\, suitable for indoor gyms\, is required. \n\n\n\n                        Knee pads are recommended. \n\n\n\n                        Please see New West Volleyball Associations dress code and code of conduct. \n\n\n\n                        A liability waiver is required to be signed by the parent / guardian

SUMMARY:Adult Summer Sessions
DESCRIPTION:Program:         Adult Summer Sessions \n\n\n\nDetails:            The adult summer sessions offer participants an opportunity for exercise and enjoyment\, playing some volleyball. Each session will follow a similar structure of 30 minutes of warm-up and 1 hour of game play. Games will start promptly at 9:00 pm. \n\n\n\nDate:               Friday July 7 to Friday August 25 \n\n\n\nEligibility:        All genders over the age of 18. One court will be designated for less experienced players and the other court for more experienced players. \n\n\n\nParticipants:    22 \n\n\n\nSession days:   Fridays 8:30 to 10:00 pm @ the Queens Park Sportsplex (7 session total) \n\n\n\nTotal cost:       $15 (includes gst) \n\n\n\n                        The City of New Westminster has funded a portion of this program through the 2023 One Time Small Grant program \n\n\n\nIncludes:          Participation in all 7 sessions\, facility costs\, insurance\, equipment\, first aid \n\n\n\nAdditional:       Appropriate athletic footwear\, suitable for indoor gyms\, is required. \n\n\n\n                        Knee pads are recommended. \n\n\n\n                        Please see New West Volleyball Associations dress code and code of conduct. \n\n\n\n                        A liability waiver is required to be completed prior to participating

SUMMARY:Youth Summer Academy
DESCRIPTION:Program:         Youth Summer Academy \n\n\n\nDetails:            The youth summer academy offers participants an opportunity build on both their individual skills and team skills. The focus will be on learning multi-setter offensive systems and multiple service reception formations. Each session will consist of 1 hour of instruction followed by 1 hour of game play. \n\n\n\nDate:               Friday July 7 to Friday August 25 \n\n\n\nEligibility:        All youth / genders currently in grade 6\, 7 or 8 with previous volleyball experience or training. This is not a beginner’s program. \n\n\n\nParticipants:    28 \n\n\n\nAssessment:    Sunday June 11 from 12:30 to 2:30 pm @ the Queens Park Sportsplex \n\n\n\nSession days:   Fridays 6:30 to 8:30 pm @ the Queens Park Sportsplex (7 session total) \n\n\n\nCost:                $85 gst included \n\n\n\nIncludes:          Facility costs\, insurance\, equipment\, first aid\, coaching (training and checks) \n\n\n\nAdditional:       Appropriate athletic footwear\, suitable for indoor gyms\, is required.
