SUMMARY:Youth Skill Development Program
DESCRIPTION:The skill development program offers participants an opportunity to learn and refine their individual volleyball skills (forearm pass\, set\, serve\, attack) and also develop an understanding of team play\, positional play and strategy. Participants will be split into groups based on skill and comfort level. Each group will experience appropriately loaded drills and skill coaching to best build their confidence and technical ability. Each week will consist of two skill days (Tuesday and Thursday) and one game day (Sunday). Participants can attend both skill days\, but are encouraged to attend at least one of them\, to best prepare for that weeks game day. \n\n\n\nTuesday January to 3\, 2023 to Thursday March 9\, 2023 (No session on Sunday February 19\, 2023) \n\n\n\nAll students / genders in grade 6\, 7 or 8 \n\n\n\nSkill days:          Tuesdays from 6:00 to 7:30 pm @ Queensborough Middle School Gym\, and \n\n\n\n                          Thursdays from 5:45 to 7:00 pm @ Ecole Glenbrook Middle School Gym \n\n\n\nGame day:        Sundays from 9:45 to 11:15 am @ Queens Park Sportsplex \n\n\n\nIncludes:           Facility costs\, insurance\, equipment\, first aid\, coaching (training and checks) \n\n\n\n Appropriate athletic footwear\, suitable for indoor gyms\, is required. Knee pads are not required but recommended. Please refer to New West Volleyball Associations dress code and code of conduct. A liability waiver is required to be signed by the participant’s parent / guardian prior to attendance\, unless previously signed for an assessment session. \n\n\n\nCost:                   $275 (GST included)
