Youth Advanced Program
March 28, 2023 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
The advanced program offers participants an opportunity to build on their individual foundational skills of forearm passing, setting, attacking, serving and blocking and also developing team play skills, court positioning awareness, cue reading and strategy. Each week will consist of two skill days (Tuesday and Thursday), working toward a tournament-style event on Sunday May 28. Participants should try and attend all skill sessions as each will build on the previous one.
Date: Tuesday March 28, 2023 to Sunday May 28, 2023
Eligibility: All students / genders in grade 6, 7 or 8 who have, either:
- attended our previous skill development session
- played a season of organized or club volleyball
- the required foundational skills
Participants: 32
Skill days: Tuesdays 6:00 to 7:30 pm @ Queensborough Middle School (QMS) Gym, and
Thursdays 6:00 to 7:30 pm @ Ecole Glenbrook Middle School (EGMS) Gym
Tournament: Sunday May 28, 2023 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm @ Queens Park Sportsplex
Cost: $185 gst included
Includes: Facility costs, insurance, equipment, first aid, coaching (training and checks)
Additional: Appropriate athletic footwear, suitable for indoor gyms, is required. Knee pads are recommended. Please see New West Volleyball Associations dress code and code of conduct. A liability waiver is required to be signed by the parent / guardian
